Septa

SGE Septa

Greyhound Chromatography supplies an extensive range of GC Septa for use with today’s Gas chromatographs.  Septa performs two primary functions - to provide a leak-free seal to maintain carrier gas pressure inside the system and to handle repeated puncturing by a syringe needle for sample introduction without problems associated with septum coring or leakage.

It is important that the integrity of each septa is maintained to ensure sample quality, it is therefore, recommended that they are changed each day and are handled with clean forceps to ensure that oils from hands do not contaminate the sample.  Septa are primarily manufactured from silicone or from silicone/PTFE and are available in a range of thicknesses and diameters.  If you require any assistance in choosing the right septa for your application, please email our sales department, we will be happy to assist: sales@greyhoundchrom.com
